1st General Assembly of the Altai Taekwondo Union
The first-ever General Assembly of the Altai Taekwondo Union—a new international platform for cooperation among national federations, sports diplomacy, and the development of taekwondo across the Altai region
The event brought together World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue, Altai Taekwondo Union President and Head of the Kazakhstan Taekwondo Federation Kudrat Shamiev, as well as representatives of the national federations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, alongside delegations from observer countries.
The delegates approved the Union’s Charter and development strategy, and appointed its leadership. The Lingvistix team provided interpreting services throughout the event.
Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Meets with the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Sauranbayev welcomed Islamic Development Bank Group Chairman Muhammad Al Jasser at the Ministry’s headquarters in Astana.
The parties discussed the modernization of Kazakhstan’s transport sector, including strengthening multimodal connectivity, enhancing logistics services, developing regional trade corridors, and investing in climate-resilient infrastructure.
Al Jasser praised Kazakhstan’s strategy to strengthen transport connectivity as a driver of economic growth, regional integration, and deeper cooperation between Asia and Europe.
Erbol Myrzabossynov Meets with World Boxing Leadership
Minister of Tourism and Sports Erbol Myrzabossynov, together with Kazakhstan Boxing Federation President Shakhmurat Mutalip, met with representatives of World Boxing, who arrived in Astana on an inspection visit ahead of the 2027 World Boxing Championships. The meeting was also attended by World Boxing Secretary General Tommy Rene Josephine Dilen and Olympic champion Serik Sapiyev.
The Minister emphasized the importance of hosting the World Championships for the development of boxing in Kazakhstan and the strengthening of international sports cooperation, highlighting the special significance of the sport for the country.
The parties discussed organizational preparations, the readiness of the sports infrastructure, and future cooperation. Representatives of World Boxing reviewed the preparation plan and praised Kazakhstan’s high standards in organizing international sporting events. The World Boxing Championships, held under the auspices of World Boxing, will take place in Astana in April 2027.
